Derden Landscapes was started in 2003 by Daniel Derden and a dream to be one of the best landscapers in Central Arkansas. It started in 1991, where he worked as a groundkeeper at his local church, First Baptist Church of Conway at the age of 13. After there, he went to work at a local plant nursery where his education of plant and tree material started. The plant nursery had a landscape division that brought extreme curiosity. Once on the landscape crew, he learned plant and tree placement (landscape design), irrigation installation, drainage, retaining walls, and a little lighting. After working in landscaping for many years, college came and he was lucky enough to work part-time for the same landscape company. There he was able to be a part-time job foreman after class. After college, the corporate scene came with 8 hours behind the desk, but still landscaped on the weekends. By 2003, his knowledge of landscape experience was not moving fast, nor was his corporate job. Daniel called his fiancée and said I am quitting this desk job and starting my own business. Daniel had created a small landscape business with a shovel, rake, wheel barrel, and a small 16’ trailer that he still has today. He knew the only way this was going to work is to work extremely hard and have the best product that was based on pure integrity and knowledge. Derden Landscapes provides services for residential and commercial projects all over Central Arkansas.
